Join us to celebrate and say goodbye to our "Americans" exhibit from the Smithsonian!
It's the last day for the "Americans" exhibit at Thistle Cottage! Join us for this last chance to experience this fantastic exhibit before it leaves our county.
Light refreshments will be provided.
Once "Americans" leaves Thistle Cottage, it will travel to the next stop on its tour of Kentucky, the Hickman County Public Library in Clinton, Ky.
"Americans" explores the history, impact, and contributions of American Indians locally and on a national scale.
The exhibition is part of Museum on Main Street, a unique collaboration between the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service (SITES), state humanities councils across the nation and local host institutions. Thistle Cottage is a historic home located in downtown Greenville. The building includes a museum dedicated to local history on its upper level, as well as a gallery that features rotating exhibits throughout the year. The lower level houses our history and genealogy archives and research collection, including public records and vital statistics; past issues of local newspapers; files of information on community events, organizations and families; and much more. The facility also offers access to online resources with a dedicated public access computer and Wi-Fi.
A portion of the museum level is also available to rent for smaller events.
