Our Kids' Book Club meets monthly for elementary-aged children who enjoy reading chapter books.
The target age group for this club is grades 3rd through 5th, but any elementary-aged child who reads chapter books is welcome to attend. Parents/guardians are welcome to stay for club meetings. (Students in 6th through 12th grade may join Teen Book Club and adults may join the Thistle Cottage Book Club.)
Kids' Book Club is a great way for children to increase their interest in reading, to "unplug", to socialize, & to develop reading skills (comprehension, endurance, & speed).
For our April meeting we will be discussing The Miscalculations of Lightning Girl By Stacy McAnulty. More information on this title can be found here. Copies of the book can be picked up at the Harbin Memorial circulation desk at any time during operating hours - a valid library card must be presented.
Not enjoying the book? Read any Newbery Award winning book instead!

Harbin Memorial Library is our main facility and serves as the business office. The building includes a circulating collection of books, movies and more; public computer access and Wi-Fi; a large meeting room; a smaller conference room; and hosts multiple public events and activities throughout the year. A book drop is located at both front and back of the building, allowing 24/7 access to return borrowed materials.
As part of a single library system, materials can also be transferred freely between the main and branch libraries for patrons’ convenience.
